Guest Trip Report: 4 night sailing on the Disney Magic from Miami
Day 2
We pulled into port in Nassau when we were having some pastries and tea for breakfast in the concierge lounge. We had originally planned to do a port adventure in Nassau, but after reviewing our Marvel Day at Sea cruise itinerary, we had a feeling we would be tired and ready to spend more time on the ship, so we cancelled. And I was right – we did feel that way! It was so nice to have a whole day on the ship ahead of us – and even fewer people on board.
After breakfast, my youngest and I walked around and had a look at the other ships docked in Nassau. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. My husband and older son went back to our stateroom to chill.
We’d often check the navigator app to see when and where characters were scheduled because we love them. So we headed down to the atrium to see who was there – and it was Pluto. My son was wearing his favorite Pluto hat and that always makes for such great character interactions so we hopped in line.
Next, we went up to the sports deck and played basketball – something we’d done at least once every day of our cruises!
For lunch, we ate by the pool – pizza and burgers – while watching Funnel Vision. This is one of my favorite things to do on a lazy day onboard.
We received a notification that morning via the navigator app that they would begin showing the new Disney movie, Turning Red, that day in both the Walt Disney Theatre as well as the Buena Vista Theatre. There were plenty of showtimes that day and throughout the rest of the cruise. We decided to go since we had no real plans and wanted to see the movie.
We waited outside the Walt Disney Theatre for a while before a cast member came out and told us they were having “technical difficulties” in the theatre. So, they walked those of us who were waiting down to the Buena Vista Theatre for a showing. There were still plenty of seats, thankfully.
After the movie, we all went back to our stateroom to clean up. Then we headed out to some trivia before dinner. Still didn’t win!
Right before dinner I would always go to the concierge lounge to get my glass of wine for dinner. My whole crew came with me this time – I suspect they came for the yummy cookies! But we had one of the hosts take a photo of us just outside on deck 10.
The ship and skies look amazing at this time of day – before sunset. I couldn’t resist taking a few photos out there.
For dinner that night, we were in Lumiere’s Dining Room again.
They had the Fab 5 characters come through the dining room about halfway through the meal. It’s a cute song and fun interlude during dinner.
Since we’d already seen all the shows on our previous cruise the week before, we played foosball and hung out in the concierge lounge and our stateroom until the fireworks show that night.
The fireworks were different because they weren’t part of a pirate deck party, but they were no less fun! We love fireworks!
Even as late as it was after the fireworks, we still watched a Disney movie that night in our stateroom – this time Wreck It Ralph. And our towel animal of the day was waiting for us when we returned – a dinosaur.
