Room 11008 is a Category 02B One-Bedroom Suite with Verandah. It is towards the front of the ship (forward). In choosing this cabin for our cruise, I wanted a quiet location and plenty of space with the concierge level of service. This stateroom fit the bill on both fronts.
There are no other staterooms across from this cabin. We rarely heard any noise in the hallway or even from our next-door or upstairs neighbors.
We definitely had plenty of room in this stateroom. Here is what the cabin looks like when you enter. One bathroom is immediately to your left. There are three closets along the entrance “hallway,” with one being a small walk-in closet, containing a safe.
Here is the bathroom near the entrance, which has a shower (with a glass door!). The shower has an amazingly powerful rain shower head, in addition to the standard shower head.
In the living area, there is a desk and a murphy bed. Here is a photo of the murphy bed folded up (we never used it):
The living area is spacious, with a sleep sofa. There is a mini-refrigerator in the closed cabinet under the TV. Our son slept on the sleep sofa. It was fine for him, but a word of warning that the mattress is VERY firm.
There is a dining area, with a table and four chairs, adjacent to the living room (it’s one big open area).
In fact, the openness extends to the bedroom area. You can create some privacy by sliding three different wall panels to separate the bedroom from the living room and dining room. We’re not particularly huge fans of this set-up and prefer the one-bedroom concierge stateroom of the Disney Magic.
The bedroom is a bit tight. There is not too much space to move around the bed, especially when you have all the sliding wall panels closed. There is a vanity in the bedroom, but, again, due to the tight space, it is practically unusable (at least it felt awkward for me to sit down in front of the mirror on the provided cushioned stool).
The bedroom has its own TV at the foot of the bed:
The master bathroom is very large, with lots of convenient storage space. There is a HUGE jacuzzi tub (kind of obtrusive, and we never used it, except to rinse our feet off from beach sand).
And, guess what? The bathroom mirror has a TV in it! I should have turned it on to take a photo but forgot. It certainly is a cool feature, which I’ve only otherwise seen at some newer Four Seasons hotels.
The master bathroom has two separate compartments for the commode and the glass-door shower, which also has the two shower heads:
Finally, with the one bedroom suite, you get a very large double balcony (i.e, verandah). There are two sliding glass door entrances – one in the living room and one in the dining room. The verandah is covered and has a domed, glass area that protrudes outward. This particular stateroom is right next to 11006, which has a larger, “bump-out” balcony (it hangs further over Deck 10 below). The verandah for 11008 is a standard, rectangular shape, with no extra “bump-out.” Even so, it is very large. (In one of the photos below, you can see the Carnival Magic in port nearby while we are docked in Port Canaveral.)

I’m pretty sure that we’ve stayed in this room as well. It’s great!

Hi Me Again- first time DCL Cruiser- looking at Fantasy Deck 11 and cabin choices are 11016 and 11022
Would I be correct in thinking that 11022 may have a bigger balcony due to the fact there appears to be no cabin on the other side? It’s hard to tell from the interactive maps.
I love your blog and can’t wait to learn all we need to know for our first cruise in April 2020!

Hi Diane! So glad you’re enjoying the blog! I think if anything, room 11022 may actually have a slight smaller verandah because the left side of it curves instead of being a right angle. Also, it is right next to the Quiet Cove (adult) pool area so while noise is probably not an issue, privacy might be. Here is a review of room 11022 on the Dream, which should be practically identical and had photos of the verandah:
