As some of you know, we recently followed Danielle Guy as she cruised through the Mediterranean for 10 nights with her family. They stayed in staterooms 6030 and 6532 and she was kind enough to review these rooms for us. First, we will start with room 6030.
Room 6030 is a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with a Verandah and is a category 5C. It is located right next to the forward elevators on the port side of the ship and connects to room 6028 next door, which is also a category 5C room. This room sleeps up to 4 guests and is in a very quiet and convenient location of the ship, especially if you are traveling with adults or older children. It provides easy access to the adult areas of the ship including the Cove Café, the adult pool, After Hours, and the spa, as well as the Walt Disney Theatre and the shopping areas. It is a bit of a walk to the dining areas, as they are all located midship or aft, but due to the smaller size of the Disney Magic (as compared to the Dream and Fantasy), it truly wasn’t more than a 10 minute walk to get anywhere.
When you first enter the room, you can see the large and light décor of the room. The Disney Magic is themed with a classic style, and you can expect to find a portrait of Walt Disney and his wife or artwork of a classic Disney song behind your couch.
One touch in particular that I love about the Disney ships is how much thought the imagineers put into designing the bathrooms. When they were designing the ships, the imagineers knew that it would be stressful for families to get ready for excursions with only one bathroom area. For this reason, you will notice that most rooms (category 10 and higher) have divided bathrooms, with the shower/bath in one room, and the toilet area in another. There is also a sink in each room, which easily prevented fights as three girls got ready in the morning ☺ I have stayed in rooms that have an awkwardly small, round bath tub on Disney ships, and I prefer this rectangular shape. This is perfect if you have a smaller child to bathe at night, but it is also large enough for an adult to take a bath if you would like.
We were greeted with goodies for being Castaway Club members, and these one shoulder backpacks were some of the nicer bags we’ve received as welcome aboard gifts. We also received 2 DCL luggage tags.
To the left hand side, you can see the couch and on the right the cabinets, desk, and television. Above the couch, the bunk bed pulls down at night, allowing for plenty of space for your whole family. There is a significant amount of storage available, and we all had more than enough closet and drawer space for our clothes for all 10 days of the Mediterranean cruise.
Lastly, the spacious verandah. It is always worth it to me to splurge for a verandah room. The verandah is the perfect place to relax as you are sailing into port, and it was spacious enough for my sister to nap on during days at sea.
