Next week I will be starting a new series on the blog titled “Reader Questions”. I often receive cruise-related question from readers via email, Facebook, or the comments section of a post. I try to answer all of them, or direct them to another source if I don’t know the answer. By starting this series, I hope to make it so that reader questions and answers are all in one central location and thus more visible to all readers.
So, I need your help! If you have any Disney cruise related questions, please email them to me at disneycruisemomblog@gmail.com by midnight, Sunday, August 28 and put the phrase “reader questions” in the subject line. You can also leave me questions in the comments section below. It may take a while for your comment to show up (due to the large number of spam comments I get, I have to approve each comment before it will appear), but I promise it will. Please try to keep the questions somewhat specific, as it is hard to answer very vague questions like “What do I need to know before my first cruise” that will have different answers for different people. I think that more specific questions like “How do I get from the airport to the cruise port” or “How does the dining rotation work” would be more helpful.
I will do my best to answer them all in the first “Reader Questions” post next week.
Thanks in advance! I think this will be a great series!!!
“Reader questions”
I am taking my very first cruise ever next year. Western Caribbean,on the Fantasy,9-30/10-7-17. What did you wish you had known before your first cruise. What tips and tricks do you have.
It is myself and my husband (no kiddos), with a large group of friends,we are apart of a cruise wedding.
Thanks for the question Ginnie! I have cruised twice without kids and can definitely give you some suggestions!
“Reader questions”
I have some silly questions 🙂 We’re going on our first cruise in January 2017. Can moms wear a princess dress on semi-formal night? Have you ever seen anyone over 10 in a princess dress while on the cruise? I’ll probably do it regardless, but I was curious if other moms dressed up too.
And I saw your blog post about princess dresses for little girls… any idea were I can get good quality prince apparel for my kids? I have all boys!
Thanks!
Thanks for the questions Danika! They are great! I will get them answered for next week’s post.
Hello!! My husband surprised me with a Disney Cruise as an anniversary gift. It tied in nicely together as 2017 is a big year for me, I turn 40. The cruise is for my husband, myself and our daughter who will be 20 months old. I’ve said in conversation that although she may be too young – our daughter is our life and the experience with her will be the biggest gift to me. No other way I would want to celebrate my 40th than with my little girl by my side. So my question in, since she is so young do you have any advice. I’ve been on a cruise before my husband has never, honestly he hasn’t taken a vacation in 5 years so I want this to be the most amazing experience for all of us. Thanks in advance!!
Harlow’s Mommy
Hi Francesca! I totally understand wanting to have your daughter with you – I hate vacationing without my girls too. My husband is the opposite though – he has no problem vacationing without the kids and so far the longest I have agreed to without them is 3 nights. I have never cruised with a child that young, but I do think I could give you some advice based on things that I have seen and heard from others. Look for my answers in next week’s blog post!
First of all I love your blog and I was wondering if you have done any excursions outside of Disney’s. I have heard they are great but would like to know where to start and how you find them. We will be going on our 3rd in January and we are so excited, Thanks!
Thanks so much Stacy! I have done some excursions outside of Disney and will give more details in this week’s blog post. Thanks for the question!
