ETA: This room was remodeled during the Wonder dry dock in Oct/Nov 2016. While the layout remains the same, the finishes and furnishing are now different than what it shown in this post. I have not yet been onboard to confirm, but I would imagine that it now looks similar to what the suites on the Magic look like after they were refurbished in 2015. You can see pictures of that here in my post about Disney Magic Room 8032.
Before I begin on my trip report from our recent 7 night Western Caribbean Very Merrytime cruise on the Disney Wonder (click here to read the full trip report), I want to review our room for you. You can also see the Daily Navigators here.
We stayed in this exact room before about 2 years ago (you can read the post here), and honestly not much has changed in this room since then. I encourage you to read this prior review because it contains a lot of information that I am not going to repeat here. I still feel like I should show the latest photos of the room, however, because the 1 bedroom concierge suites on the Magic have been recently remodeled so I anticipate that some people may try to figure out if the ones on the Wonder have been as well. The answer is no. I did not notice any changes from our stay here 2 years ago other than the pillow on the bed being changed from a red one to a light blue one.
Now for the grand tour:
This is what you see when you walk in the door. I apologize for the poor photo quality – it is hard to get a good shot with all of that sunlight in the background. There is an entryway area that has a closet as well as 2 countertop areas with mirrors above and drawers underneath. Also, there is a door to a bathroom here as well as a connecting door to room 8534 (same room as this but a mirror image).
Here is a view of the entryway from the room. The connecting door to the room next door in on the left, just before the closet, and the bathroom door in on the right (just past the shelves).
Here is the bathroom off of the entryway. It has a single sink as well as a shower (no tub) :
Sorry about the open toilet – it would have been better if I had thought to close it! Oops!
I somehow forgot to take a picture of the shower that is just to the left of the toilet, but it is just your basic small shower. It is very similar to the one in the master bathroom that you will see later on.
Once you walk through the entry way you enter the living room. There are 2 sets of balcony doors along one wall and a large cabinet on the opposite wall that holds the TV (with DVD player & surround speakers!), a wet bar, and a twin murphy bed.
There is also a queen size pull out sofa, 2 chairs, and a dining table that seats 4 (or 5 if you pull up the ottoman like we do):
Here are some close ups of the dining table, wet bar (refrigerator is in the cabinet below), murphy bed in the up and down position, and one of the decorative shelves:
Joanne kept us stocked with bottled water and sodas throughout the week:
I want to mention that the murphy bed is in the living room in only 4 of the 1 bedroom suites on the Magic & Wonder (rooms 8032, 8034, 8532 & 8534). All of the other 1 bedroom suites have a totally different layout than this and the murphy bed is actually in the bedroom in front of the balcony door. You can see the layout of these rooms here.
In case you were wondering (I would if I were you), the items on the shelves are secured (with what I have no clue) and do not move.
Through the living room is the bedroom:
There is a 3rd door the the balcony on the back wall, as well as some shelves with storage on either side:
Speaking of storage, this room has TONS of it! Anytime you see a cabinet door, there is empty storage space behind it, usually with shelves. There are lots of empty drawers scattered throughout as well.
At the foot of the bed is a built in cabinet with a TV that is smaller than the one in the living room:
My favorite pillow:
At the back of the bedroom is the vanity/closet/bathroom area. Here is the vanity which is sort of an extension of the bedroom with no door separating the two spaces. There is a set of 3 drawers on either side of the chair:
To the right of the vanity is the walk-in closet which contains the safe as well as a tower of 4 large drawers:
Here you will find one of our favorites parts of this room: the ROBES!
I don’t know what it is about these robes, but they are heavenly! For some reason there were 2 pink ones and 1 blue one, in the wrong sizes, on our first day (from the previous guests I presume). The next day, however, our stateroom host switched them out for 3 pink ones in the correct sizes. There is just something about these robes and I am not exaggerating when I say we used them everyday. They have a soft terrycloth interior and a smooth satin exterior. They are not your average robe, I promise you, and the price you will pay for one on the Disney Store website proves it:
Just click on the link above to buy one for yourself or someone you really, really love. This would make a great Christmas or birthday present for any DCL fan!
On the other side of the vanity is the larger bathroom. It has 2 sinks (with drawers in between them and storage cabinets underneath) on one wall and a jacuzzi tub opposite:
Through a separate door is a small room that contains the toilet and shower:
In this bathroom I forgot to take a picture of the toilet, but you can see part of it in the picture of the sinks above.
I also noticed that the toiletries on the counter were no longer the H2O brand that I love but a new type I had never seen before:
I tried using them and they were okay, but by day 2 I asked our stateroom host for the H2O stuff and he kept us stocked with it for the rest of the cruise.
And finally, one of the many great things about this room: the triple wide balcony!
This is the most furniture we have ever had on one of these balconies in 4 cruises. I think you can request certain balcony furniture to be delivered/removed (we never have) and I guess the previous guests wanted a lot of it! 2 full size loungers, 4 chairs and 2 tables. It was crowded out there. It didn’t bother us because we don’t spend a lot of time out there. We usually just step out as we are pulling in and out of ports to take a few pictures and that is about it.
We enjoyed this room immensely and will stay in it (or the 3 similar rooms: 8534, 8032, & 8034) whenever possible. Being that there are only 4 rooms like this on the classic ships, they get booked quickly so you need to book early to get one.

I had never heard of H2O+ products until we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge awhile back. They had them in our room and I LOVED them. I came home and ordered some and have been using them ever since. Every time I shampoo my hair, I am reminded of our trip. When my young son tells me he likes the smell after I shower, I tell him it smells like Disney World (grin!) It is too bad that they switched out the shampoo in the concierge rooms on the ship, but at least you can still ask for H2O products and get them. Their scent definitely complements the “sea life” during a cruise.
Disney Cruise Mom says
You are so right Michelle! The scent is exactly why I requested them – it is my “cruise scent” that I associate with being on a cruise. It just wouldn’t feel like a Disney cruise without it!

It appears on the Disney website that 8534 might be slightly larger. Do you know if that is the case?
Disney Cruise Mom says
I have never been inside 8534, but I have read reports online from people who have and they say that the only thing larger is the walk-in closet. Instead of being a perfect rectangle, it has some extra space in a little “bump out” area on one side.

I absolutely loved this stateroom. Felt like a queen.
Carys Humphreys says
How easy was to pull down the murphy bed
Please answer ASAP
Disney Cruise Mom says
To pull down the Murphy bed requires a special key so only your stateroom host can do it. He/she will do it when they turn down your room for the night while you are eating dinner.
Carys Humphreys says
Would guests be put Murphy bed back up and put the chair in front of it so it’s out of the gusto way.
Please answer ASAP.
Disney Cruise Mom says
I don’t know the answer to this as we never tried to put the bed away ourselves. I would think that if it requires a key to put it down that it would also require a key to put it back up. If it is really important to you, then you could arrange with your room steward to come to your room at a specific time every morning to put the bed up.
