Since Halloween is soon approaching I thought I would post some pictures from our Halloween on the High Seas sailings. Those of you who have a HOTHS sailing booked might be interested in what to expect. We have sailed on 2 HOTHS sailings – in Sep/Oct 2013 on the Wonder and in October/Nov 2014 on the Magic. (Update: We also sailed on the Dream in October 2016 – trip report here). For the 2014 sailing on the Magic we were on the ship for Halloween Day, but not for the 2013 sailing on the Wonder.
Let’s start with our 2013 sailing on the Wonder which was Sep 28 – Oct 5, 2013. I hadn’t yet started my blog at the time that we took either of these sailings, so unfortunately I didn’t take a lot of detailed pictures of the Halloween stuff that we saw. But, I will share what I have. Here is a cute dessert that they brought us in the dining room one evening. The body was chocolate mousse and the legs were chocolate:
Here are some pictures of the characters in their Halloween costumes at the Halloween deck party:
Here is a ghost towel animal which I thought was very creative:
On this same evening, we noticed that my daughter’s dress was standing up by itself. Spooky……….
Here is an example of the Halloween border that Shutters put on all of the pictures taken the evening of the Halloween deck party. It was not optional – there was no way to get the photos without the border:
Now on to our next HOTHS sailing which was October 26 – November 2, 2014 on the Magic. Note that we were on the ship for Halloween night, so there were some extra festivities that I don’t think were on the other HOTHS sailings. The first thing we saw when we boarded the ship was the Halloween tree in the lobby. This was a new addition since our HOTHS sailing the year before:
Throughout the cruise, jack-o-lanterns were slowly added to the tree so that by the end it looked like this:
Here is an overall view of the lobby decorations:
They had dressed up the windows on level 3 as well:
When we got to our room, we were pleased to find some festive touches. I don’t know if these decorations were only in the suites (I suspect they were), or only on this one sailing since it was the actual Halloween sailing. We hadn’t received them in our suite the year before:
Note the banner over the balcony door:

My youngest ended up using the treat bag for trick or treating:
