If you missed the previous days of this trip report you can read them here:
Day 5 began early as we woke up around 6:30 to find that we were already docked at Port Canaveral. We got ready, finished packing and went to Royal Palace at 8:00 for our final meal with our table mates and serving team. We enjoyed all of them so much that it was really sad to say goodbye. We took a group picture after we ate and then said our goodbyes. On our way out of Royal Palace we placed our comment card in the box and gathered our luggage which we had left right outside the restaurant door.
The line to leave the ship was short, and after just a couple of minutes we were walking through the terminal, having our KTTW cards scanned one last time, and heading down the escalators to the luggage room. We already had all of our luggage with us so we went straight to the customs line. I think we only had to wait for one family in front of us before it was our turn. It only took about a minute and we were done with customs and heading to the DCL bus that would take us to the airport. We walked outside to the buses where we were pointed to the next available bus. We gave our suitcases to the driver to be stored under the bus and climbed on board. The bus was almost empty so we ended up waiting 15-20 minutes for the bus to fill up. Once it was full we drove to the airport. When we arrived, the bus driver told us when to get off based on which airline we were on. We were flying JetBlue and we got off at the first stop. We did not participate in the onboard airline check in program, so we had to get in line at the ticket counter in order to print our boarding passes and check our bags. That went fairly quickly and then we went to find our gate and continue our journey home.
This is just a brief explanation of our disembarkation process, but if you would like a full explanation and more details about all of the options for disembarking, you can read about it here:
