I thought I would start out my trip report from my recent 3 night cruise on the Dream with a review of our stateroom. At the time that we booked the cruise (about 4 weeks out), it was almost sold out and the cheapest room category available was a 05A, which is a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. We were not able to pick a room, but a few days after booking we were assigned room 9024. This room sleeps 3 people and is located on deck 9 near the front of the ship. It connects with room 9022 next door.
We did not arrive at our room until about 1:45, so I am not sure if the rooms were ready right at 1:30 or not. This was our first time staying in this room category and it was lovely.
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the Castaway Club gift on the bed. This is our 3rd time to receive a bag like this, but I was pleasantly surprised that they have changed the design slightly. Our other two have rope handles that are kind of flimsy, but this one had strap handles and seemed higher quality. Since this bag has been the Castaway Club gift for a while now (we also received this bag last summer), I am hoping that means that they are getting ready to change the Castaway Club gift to something else. It would be great to receive something different on our upcoming November cruise on the Wonder. That will also be our first sailing as Gold members so either way, I am exited to finally receive the gold gift!
Here are some more pictures of the room. The dresser drawers were open when we came in, and now I am regretting not closing them for the pictures:

Our dining tickets were on the desk:

I think some people are curious about the hair dryer provided and wonder if they should bring their own. Here is the one that was in our room:
This was our first time having a split bathroom like this and I think it is a great design. The tub/shower and one sink are in one room, and right next door is a separate room with the toilet and another sink. Here is the shower/tub room:

Here you can see the two bathroom doors on the right as well as two closets on the left:

We were at assembly station A which met in the balcony of the Walt Disney Theater. This was our 5th cruise, and our first time to be indoors for the safety drill. It was so nice to not be sweating it out on Deck 4! Funny story – our assembly leader was a young man wearing a white polo shirt and white shorts. Because of his clothes, I was pretty sure he was a main stage performer. I have noticed that often times, the main stage performers will also be characters handlers during the day and wear the solid white uniforms. Well, during the drill, I noticed how muscular he was and thought to myself that he was probably Tarzan from the Golden Mickeys. Ladies, those of you who have seen the Golden Mickeys know exactly what I am talking about 🙂 Well, I forgot all about it until we were sitting in the theater waiting for the Golden Mickeys to start that evening, and my husband mentions that he was pretty certain that our assembly leader was Tarzan from the Golden Mickeys. And….we were right! We had a good laugh about how dorky it was that we both noticed that. Perhaps a sign that we have been on too many Disney cruises???

Overall we enjoyed the room and I can’t really think of any complaints. We thought it was a good location, everything worked, and we enjoyed our stay there.

The oceanview room with a verandah is a nice room. It seems to have plenty of room for two people, and the split bathrooms are so nice. We loved it on our Wonder cruise.

We loved it too. With 2 people, we would sail in this room again in a heartbeat!
