We fly to Orlando today because tomorrow we will be boarding the Disney Dream!!! It has been a week since my last post and what a crazy week it has been. I hated to go so long without posting, and that wasn’t my intention, but I received a shocking diagnosis last week that has turned my life upside down. At age 38, I have been diagnosed with breast cancer (get those mammograms ladies!!!). The GREAT news is that the type I have is the best type of cancer to have and I will survive this. The bad news is that within the next couple of months, I will be facing a major surgery. But, I am so grateful for my good prognosis and I can’t wait to set foot on that ship and leave all of my worries behind for a few days. I will have lots to report when I get back so stay tuned!

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry to hear that, but very thankful that you received a timely diagnosis. I’m sure this will have all kinds of ripple effects in your life, especially with your upcoming move. I truly hope things go as smoothly as possible for you in all regards.
Enjoy your cruise! I wish I could be out on the Dream as well, not trapped in my house for 10 days straight. I look forward to your trip report when you get back so that I can live vicariously through your experience!

Thanks Michelle! This may cause us to have to change our plans up a bit but I am optimistic that everything will work out just fine. We had a great cruise and I can’t wait to blog about it, although it may take a while because things are CRAZY right now! Trying to start school, my husband left today to drive to NC, doctors appointments, etc. However, I am going to try my best to get some posts written up ASAP!

You have been on my heart and mind a lot this week. I am so glad you guys had a nice trip and you and your husband were able to get away before things get really busy for you. We have been doing a “soft launch” of school this week, just to try and get back in the groove again, but we are really struggling to pull the old books out and sit in one place for any length of time.
As anxious as I am to hear your trip report, please take your time and focus on what is truly important in your life right now…your health, your family, and your other commitments. There will be lots of time to get back to the blog and your readers will still be here for you.

Thank you Michelle. We were able to have a great time on our cruise despite all of the circumstances and it was really nice. I am so grateful that we were able to get away and not think about reality for a few days. We are also trying the “soft launch” approach for school this week – so much easier than just jumping back in full force! Let me know how it goes at your house!
