When we sailed on both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder in 2013 we were lucky enough to get to go to a cute little event called “Tea With Alice” (on the Magic) and “Tea With the Princesses” (on the Wonder). When we were on the Magic again in October 2014, they sadly did not have the event. They have since done away with both altogether. They have never held this on the Dream or Fantasy.
This is a ticketed event and you can get free tickets either at Guest Services or from your concierge host if you are sailing concierge. Both times we went, we were concierge and our host gave us tickets at the concierge reception right after we boarded, without us even asking. If you plan to get them from Guest Services, I suggest you go immediately after you board as there are a limited amount of tickets available.
The Tea Party is always held in the afternoon on one of the sea days in either D Lounge (Magic) or Studio Sea (Wonder). I suggest getting there about 15-20 minutes early in order to get a table near the front.
When you get there, they have all of the tables set up with tablecloths, tea cups and saucers, plates of chocolate chip cookies, and tea pots of apple juice. Here we are waiting for it to begin:
First I’ll tell you about Tea with Alice. They basically recreate the tea party scene from the movie. Once it began, Alice and the Mad Hatter came out and talked about the pocket watch not working and how the March Hare and White Rabbit are late for the tea party. They decide that they need to pick 2 kids from the audience to step in for them. So, they chose 2 audience members to participate, and one of my daughters was lucky enough to be chosen. Here, she and the other girl chosen are given their rabbit ears and told what to do:
Next they sang the Very Merry Unbirthday song. They got the audience involved by having them stand up and dance around their tables. Then, they got the tea party got started and taught everyone the “proper” way to have tea:
Then they all came around in front of the table and played “Mad Hatter Says” (instead of Simon Says) with the audience:
Finally, Alice tells a story about all of her adventures in Wonderland. Then, after the party is over, Alice and the Mad Hatter hang around for pictures and autographs:
The Tea with the Princesses was a little bit different. We had Ariel and Tiana at ours, but I hear that the princesses vary. The table set up was the same, but it was less of a show and more of the princesses walking around and visiting each table. It started with Ariel and Tiana coming out and doing a little song & dance routine, then they started making their way to each table to talk to everyone. Here are some videos of the introduction:

Since this tea party fell on the afternoon of formal night, I had already gotten the girls’ hair done so that we wouldn’t be rushed later. Here we are waiting for it to start:
Here are the princesses making their rounds:
After the princesses were done and we had enjoyed our tea and cookies, the princesses were available for pictures and autographs:
Here, Tiana is asking about our custom autograph books that I made:
Today, there is a tea event called “Royal Court Royal Tea” which you can read all about here. It is not free though, it is actually very expensive ($220 per child, $69 per adult). You can reserve this online before your cruise once your booking window opens.

Cute pictures! What did you use for the autograph books? They look like they already have photos in them???? Were they pictures from previous trips that you had bound in a photo book????
Disney Cruise Mom says
Yes, I made them using pictures from previous trips! I wrote a post about them here.

Thanks! I must have somehow missed that post.
