After I mentioned in my recent trip report that we went a little overboard on souvenirs on our recent back-to-back cruises (full trip report here), a reader suggested a blog post showing exactly what we bought. Hopefully all of you fellow souvenir-loving travelers will enjoy seeing our haul!
I am probably forgetting at least one thing, and likely more. I should have done this post right after we returned, when it was fresh in my mind. But, here are the things that I can recall, in no particular order:
Magnets
I collect magnets from our travels, and I acquired quite the stash on this adventure. I need to start being more selective and showing some restraint, or else I will eventually end up with more than I can display. Right now I keep them on the refrigerator in our garage, which is broken. I’m getting ready to transfer them to the refrigerator in our basement so that we can get rid of the broken fridge. Right now, these are still on our kitchen refrigerator so we can enjoy them for the time being:
I think I’ll keep these 4 on the kitchen fridge permanently:
DCL Alaska 2018 Blanket:
DCL Beanie:
DCL Alaska backpack:
DCL Alaska ball cap for my husband:
DCL Alaska 2018 baseball tee for me:
DCL Nike polo shirt for my husband:
DCL Alaska 2018 travel mug (sold on decks 9/10 filled with a drink for $10):
DCL Alaska 2018 hoodie for my husband:
DCL hoodie for daughter #2:
DCL hoodie for daughter #3:
DCL hoodie for daughter #1:
This was the Gold Castaway Club gift. Because we were in 2 rooms on 2 sailings, we received a total of 4 backpacks and 8 luggage tags:
Now let’s talk about some of the stuff we bought in ports of call. In San Fransisco, we purchased the group photo from our Alcatraz visit. This is the small version in a magnet, but a large one was included as well:
Daughter #2 wanted this shirt:
This shirt is for my husband:
An Alcatraz ornament:
I feel like we bought more in Victoria, but this is all I can recall. An ornament from Butchart Gardens:
And 3 or 4 pair of these fluffy socks:
In Vancouver, we rode FlyOver Canada and purchased the group photo:
In Juneau, we ate at Tracy’s King Crab Shack and had to buy the shirt:
In Ketchikan, we purchased a better rain coat for daughter #2, as the one she brought wasn’t as waterproof as we thought. This was very high quality at a reasonable price:
My husband is fascinated by Bigfoot, so of course he had to buy this shirt we found in Ketchikan done in a Native Alaska art style:
A miniature totem pole, also from Ketchikan:
There was a store on Creek Street in Ketchikan that sold all sorts of local food items. I purchased 4 different varieties of sea salt, as well as some spruce tip jelly:
And also these salmon seasonings:
And finally, a few more ornaments from both the ship and Alaska ports:
That’s a wrap! We came home with quite the haul to help us remember such an amazing trip. And, we somehow managed to fit it all in the suitcases and stay under the weight limit.

I buy Christmas ornaments every where we go and plan to do a tree full of our ornaments. I haven’t done it yet because our youngest is 3 and I’m afraid she will break one!

Love it! Thanks for showing us. I’m so fascinated with the Alaska cruse, I loved seeing the special merch they sold.
