Day 6: At Sea
You can see the daily navigators for this cruise by clicking here.
This was a sea day, and I think we all just wanted to relax. We started off with the breakfast buffet in Cabanas and were able to nab a table on the outside deck.
We then spent most of the day in the room, watching Disney movies and up on Decks 11 and 12.
This was the evening of the relatively new Frozen musical, which we all wanted to see. It was spectacular! It even snowed in the theatre!
Dinner that night was in Enchanted Garden. I unfortunately forgot my phone that night, but I have screen shots of the menu choices. Bread service was multigrain and country currant rolls with chick-pea garlic puree.
The appetizers were salmon gravlax, the Enchanted garden platter, garlic and parsley sautéed shrimp and poached green and white asparagus spears.
The soup and salad selections were slow cooked green lentil soup, wild forest mushroom soup, pancetta salad and coronation of mixed leaves.
The main dinner choices were Portobello triangoli pasta, grilled fillet of turbo, oven-roasted Tom turkey breast, trio of veal and New York strip steak.
The dessert choices were Sacher torte, white chocolate bread pudding, crème brulee cheesecake, forest berry sundae and strawberry and cream tower.
The main event of the day was after dinner, as they would be showing the premEAR at sea of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at 11 pm. We were now in the Eastern Standard Time Zone, so I believe we were the first audience to see the movie, since it was not playing on land until midnight.
We knew there would be a long line for the movie and we were right! Two lines were formed on either side of the theatre and went all the way out to the atrium.
A cast member told us it was the longest line he’d ever seen for a movie premiere. They let us into the theatre around 10:15 pm and began interviewing guests on the red carpet.
As you can see, the theatre was absolutely packed!
I will be perfectly honest and say that I am not really a Star Wars fan (I’m sorry), but my daughter is and she absolutely loved the movie! It was a very cool experience seeing such a big movie premiere onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship!
The next day would be the final day of our cruise on Disney’s Castaway Cay. Due to rough waters and the medical emergency from the prior day, we were told that we would not be docking at Castaway Cay until around 11 am.
