Day 4: At Sea
Our plans for today consisted of eating, drinking, and relaxing.
My husband and slept in and enjoyed a light breakfast from Cabanas on the balcony.
Today we had Brunch reservations at Palo and wanted to save our eating for then. This was our first time at Palo and we were very pleased to get Brunch and Dinner reservations during our sailing.
We were seated within a few minutes of our arrival and introduced to our server. Since this was our first visit, she thoroughly explained the Brunch menu and took us to the buffet to describe all of the selections. I ordered the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Breast from the menu and my husband ordered the Lasagna Bolognaise. While we waited for our entrees we sampled the buffet selections. My favorite was the prosciutto and cheese and my husband’s favorite was all of the seafood, but mostly the shrimp. Our entrees arrived and we declared both of them delicious. After sampling the desserts and finishing up our Bellinis it was time to go, but we were already looking forward to dinner there tomorrow.
Tequila and Margarita Tasting Before…
That afternoon, I had the Tequila and Margarita tasting in the Cadillac Lounge. I was able to book this the day we boarded but unfortunately they didn’t have a space for my husband (he wanted to take a nap after Palo anyway). The tasting was relaxed and very informative. The bartender was knowledgeable about the types of Tequila and the history of it. In an hour our group sampled three kinds of Tequila and two Margaritas. I appreciated the slow pace of our sampling the novelty of trying the Tequila shots with an orange slice and ground cinnamon.
Tequila and Margarita Tasting After….
I met my husband at 3:30 for the Art of the Theme Show Tour. This is an adult-only walking tour of the ship that is offered most days. The cast members share the behind-the-scenes history and details about the ships’ decor. Each tour on each ship is different. We learned that the former “Route 66” adults-only area had its name changed to “After Hours” in order to avoid confusion with the Cars movie franchise.
That evening was the Frozen: A Musical Spectacular show which we enjoyed a lot! The production, sets, lighting, special effects, puppets were awesome and the show itself is very humorous and entertaining. After the show, we went to 80’s Music Trivia in the Crown and Fin with friends we met on the ship. I was still full from Brunch and I skipped dinner in the Main Dining Room (Triton’s) and took some pictures in the Atrium while my husband ate.
