ETA: This review is from when we stayed in this room in September 2013. We stayed in this same room again in November 2015 and you can read that review by clicking here.
ETA: This room was remodeled during the Wonder dry dock in Oct/Nov 2016. While the layout remains the same, the finishes and furnishing are now different than what it shown in this post. I have not yet been onboard to confirm, but I would imagine that it now looks similar to what the suites on the Magic look like after they were refurbished in 2015. You can see pictures of that here in my post about Disney Magic Room 8032.
When we took our 7 night cruise on the Wonder in September of 2013, we stayed in room 8532, which is a Category 02A One Bedroom Suite. I discussed this room category in my previous post about room 8032 on the Magic, but here are my main thoughts from that post: We absolutely love these rooms! Note that this exact room is only available on the Magic and the Wonder, and there are only 4 of these specific suites on each ship. The room numbers are 8032, 8034, 8532 and 8534. They are all midship and their doors are right off the midship elevator lobby. These rooms are usually booked very quickly, so in order to reserve one you probably need to book it soon after the sailing becomes available (unless you get lucky and snag it if someone cancels). The layout is different than the Category 02B One Bedroom Suites and the main differences are that the balcony is wider (the length of 3 standard rooms instead of 2) and the twin murphy bed is in the living room (instead of the bedroom).
Now, on to the pictures from cabin 8532 on the Wonder. Here is a view of the living room as you walk in the door. There are 2 doors to the balcony on the far wall behind the curtains:
Here is a view of the entryway. The bathroom door is on the right (just beyond the shelves) and on the left is a closet, as well as a connecting door to room 8530:
Look what was in the closet – how cute are these??? They were even the right sizes for our girls. I love DCL’s attention to detail! (Note: I am pretty sure that robes are only provided in suites. If I am wrong about that then someone please correct me).
Here is the living room from one end. The murphy bed is in the wall cabinet just to the left of the suitcase:
Here is the living room from the other end. The sofa turns into a queen size bed and the mattress is what I would consider average for a sofa bed. Fine for the kids, but not so great for an adult:
This is the smaller bathroom by the main entrance to the room. There is a single sink on the right and a toilet and shower behind the door on the left:
Now on to the bedroom. Here it is from one end. Note the vanity area and entrance to the master bathroom & closet on the back left wall:
From the other direction you can see the 3rd door to the balcony:
Tis is the master bathroom. There is a double sink vanity on the right and a jacuzzi tub on the left. The door on the back wall leads to a small room that contains the toilet & shower:

Here is the walk in closet. There is a stack of 4 drawers on the left with a safe on top:
(Pssst….you can buy this AMAZING robe right here – I promise it is exceptional quality and worth every penny!) (affiliate link)
One thing I think a lot of people have questions about is the Murphy bed. This is the only picture I took with the bed down, so please excuse the semi-conscious child in it. I promise you she was breathing. It seemed like a normal size twin bed with an average quality mattress. You can’t really open it yourself because it requires a special tool, but your room host will lower it every evening when they turn down your room. I guess you could raise it yourself in the morning, but we just let our room host do that as well when they clean the room every morning.
This is the balcony. This is actually the balcony from room 8032 on the Magic, but they are identical:
And finally, one of our very favorite perks of staying in a suite…….breakfast delivered from the Main Dining Room! My family LOVES this and we do it every morning! For some reason they are not in this picture but we also get waffles, french toast, and pancakes as well. Actually, that may be the french toast in the back:

I have a question for you since you have stayed in this room twice: Did you hear/experience much noise from the deck above?
I have read conflicting reports of noise in this cabin from other websites/cabin reviews and wanted to know your take on the noise level.
Thank you.
Disney Cruise Mom says
I have also read reports of excessive noise, but we have never experienced it. We did hear an occasional chair scraping or pitter patter of feet from above, but nothing bothersome. That said, we do have 3 kids (girls who are not particularly loud), so perhaps we are just used to a little bit of noise and didn’t notice it. I guess a couple without kids who is used to total silence may find the same level of noise we experienced annoying. I’m sure it varies by sailing and also is largely determined by a particular person’s definition of “noise”. But overall, we were never bothered by noise from the deck above.

I am excited to read this. My travel agent booked this room for next year for me and I am even more excited after seeing this.

Wow! Thank you so very much for doing this. We have never been on a cruise before and I am planning a trip for my Husband’s 50th birthday. This is a big expense for us but something that ticks many of his “bucket list” items off. It helps to make these plans with the pictures of the EXACT room. You are wonderful. Now, I have a quick question regarding a Mom’s perspective. We have two young girls around the ages of yours pictured. Do you worry about the safety about being on a boat? It may seem silly and overly nervous but I seriously worry about the ‘overboard’ factory. Seeing your girls on the patio was exactly what I was thinking about…. what are your feelings? Thanks again.
Disney Cruise Mom says
I’m so glad you asked this question Nicole! Before our first cruise, I will admit that was worried about the overboard factor. I almost didn’t book a verandah room because of it. I am a worrier by nature and will always find all sorts of irrational things to worry about. So, I will fully admit that I was worried on our first cruise. After boarding the ship and seeing it in person, my anxiety went WAY down. The railings everywhere on the ship are very high. The verandah worried me the most because there is furniture out there that could assist a child in climbing over. I just made sure that the girls were NEVER out there without an adult, even for a second. The doors out to the verandah are very secure. They are very heavy (so heavy that I even struggle opening them) and have 2 locks – one at the handle and another at the very top. There is virtually no way a child could get out that door without being noticed, unless they were left in the room alone which we never did. Every cruise, my anxiety lessened and now I just follow the precautions I outlined above and I don’t worry about it one bit. Plus, a child has never gone overboard on a Disney cruise so keep that in mind. I hope this helps you feel better and you are going to love, love, love that room. All of the furnishings and decor will be different by the time you sail, but the layout should remain the same. The Wonder is undergoing a major renovation right now and I’m sure these rooms are getting complete makeovers!

Thank you so very much! I knew you would understand and I am going to proceed with my plans. Needless to say, we will apply the same rules and be vigilant that they are followed. Thanks for the quick reply and the fantastic pictures.

Are the rooms on that deck loud – meaning can you hear the noise from the deck above? We’re taking the Wonder to Alaska next summer and will be on deck 8 – regular family stateroom with verandah.
TIA
Disney Cruise Mom says
I have read reports of people thinking it was loud, but I have never personally experienced it. I have stayed on deck 8 on the Magic or Wonder 4 times and would occasionally hear a chair scrape from above or the pitter patter of running feet, but it was never enough to bother us. But, we are not light sleepers and are used to a certain level of noise at home since we have 3 kids. I would stay on deck 8 again in a heartbeat. Hope this helps!

This was my stateroom last May. It was wonderful. The concierge staff amazing.
And the only noise I ever heard were children who were allowed to run up and down the halls…never once did I hear any elevator noise.
